Sanibonani everyone! (Hello in Zulu)

We have been in South Africa for over a month now; I can’t believe it! Time is really flying by. We’re just a couple days out from our travel day to eSwatini, but before that I wanted to give an overview of our amazing ministry hosts here in South Africa! The ministry is called Impact Africa, and wow do they live up to that name. Impact has 5 main areas of ministry:Impact internships and mission teams, Impact Baby Rescue, Impact Kids, Impact Students, and Community Outreach. While my squad is here, we’re getting to partner with all of these areas, and boy are we seeing God move.

Internship/Mission Teams:

This is the ministry that my squad is here with. We’re here along with a group of Impact Africa interns to partner in the following ministries.

Impact Baby Rescue:

This teams’ mission is to provide options and education to women in crisis pregnancies, parental counseling, a baby safe as a last resort, and there are also two baby houses. We’ve gotten to partner with IBR by doing canvassing to spread the word that there are people who want to help in these situations that can be so isolating. SAVE THE BABIES!!

Impact Kids:

Impact Kids has the goal of providing a quality and Biblically based education for so many preschool/ lower elementary school students in many schools across South Africa. There is also an after school class for older kids in the communities to hear the Bible at their level called Bible Exposure. These schools are in the communities and give an open door for ministry not only in students lives, but the parents too (community outreach).

Impact Students:

This ministry has a team that goes into non Impact public schools to teach about the importance of school, staying away from temptation, not being afraid to dream, and most importantly the Gospel. This can be done in a classroom setting or sometimes in assemblies. On just one day of this ministry my team got to tell over 700 students what Jesus has done for them; how amazing is that?!?!

Community Outreach:

This ministry is the one my squad has spent the most time serving with, and I think we can all agree that we love it! In short outreach is door to door evangelism in different “squatter camps” in the Joburg area. We get to walk in small groups through these communities and meet so many amazing people. We get to sit with these people hear their stories, tell our stories, and then encourage them in their relationships with God or explain the Gospel to them. I know we all have so many phenomenal stories of what we’ve seen God do while we were doing outreach that we can’t wait to share.

Thank you guys so much for your continued support and prayers; they really do work. We are so sad to see our time in South Africa end, but are so excited to see what new adventures and ministry opportunities are ahead in eSwatini!

Thank you so much – Eleanor
